Early Arrival & Early Bird Program
Early morning care is available for a nominal fee ($5) to all students from 7:00am - 7:30am and for no fee from 7:30am - 7:55am. No pre-registration is required. Supervision is provided by CHS faculty. Financial aiid is not available for this program.
Early Bird Programs
The Chestnut Hill School offers fee-based specialty classes throughout the year for students in Grade 1 through Grade 6. These activities include Fibertastics and Rocketry. These classes meet before school and are subject to a minimum enrollment. Classes are offered for the full academic year and are taught by Rosie Sweeney, CHS Art and Science teacher. Registration is online only.
The following classes are available from 7:20am – 7:50am.Fibertastics – Meets every Wednesday from September 21, 2016 – June 7, 2017
Join in for fun with beads, feathers, fleece, yarn and more! We knit, paint fabric, dye yarns and make felt from sheep’s fleece. You will take home a beautiful craft bag full of creative projects.
Rocketry – Meets every Thursday from September 22, 2016 – June 8, 2017
This is your chance to fly the Chestnut Hill School 15 foot long solar powered balloon! We will explore the wonder of flight through hands on projects. In the spring, you will begin to design and build a powerful bottle rocket to be launched on the CHS field by YOU! You will discover what it takes to make a great rocket, and about the importance of aerodynamics, drag and thrust. It’s a blast!!
Registration is subject to a minimum enrollment. Although it’s best to start at the beginning of the program, we welcome new students even after the program has begun. Requests for changes in enrollment should be submitted to email@example.com. Please note that the classes meet only on days that school is in session.
